Round-the-clock monitoring of vitals and withdrawal symptoms by registered nurses makes intervention quick and effective, so your detox can be as comfortable as possible.

Addictions We Address at Our Rehab Center

Diamond Detox treats multiple addictions at our Kaysville, Utah facility.

Alcohol

Clinically known as alcohol use disorder (AUD), alcohol addiction is a chronic, relapsing condition characterized by an impaired ability to stop or control alcohol use despite adverse social, occupational, or health consequences. Alcohol detox involves 24/7 monitoring, benzodiazepine tapering, and medication-assisted treatment (MAT) to help avoid severe complications such as seizures and delirium tremens (DTs).

Opioids

Opioid addiction, clinically known as opioid use disorder (OUD), is a chronic brain disease characterized by a powerful, compulsive urge to use opioids despite harmful consequences. Diamond Detox assists in clinical stabilization via medication-assisted treatment (MAT). This includes buprenorphine for opioid tapers from multiple opioids, including heroin.

Prescription Drugs

The chronic, compulsive misuse of pharmaceuticals, such as opioids, stimulants, or benzodiazepines, in ways other than prescribed, defines prescription drug addiction. This often leads to a substance use disorder. Prescription drug dependence is treated through MAT and medical monitoring to watch for elevated heart rate and blood pressure and provide relief for nausea and body pain associated with detox.

Benzodiazepines

Characterized by physical and psychological reliance, benzodiazepine dependence is a condition that develops from repeated use, even at prescribed, therapeutic doses. A tapering protocol is critical for detox from benzos to avoid severe symptoms such as sleep disturbance, irritability, increased tension and anxiety, panic attacks, hand tremor, sweating, difficulty in concentration, dry heaving, nausea, weight loss, heart palpitations, headache, muscular pain, muscle stiffness, and perceptual changes.

Cocaine

Cocaine is a highly addictive stimulant drug that accelerates the central nervous system, producing euphoria and increased alertness by blocking dopamine in the brain.  This “party drug” is often used to offset feelings of social anxiety or to boost confidence. It makes users feel talkative, energetic, alert, and euphoric. The positive feelings it stimulates drive user cravings, both physically and psychologically, contributing to its addictiveness.

Methamphetamine

Methamphetamine (METH) is a powerful central nervous system psychostimulant that is highly addictive. It induces feelings of intense euphoria and well-being, leading to its abuse worldwide. METH use disorder (MUD) is a worldwide health problem with symptoms including anxiety, depression, cognitive impairments, insomnia, and psychosis. Chronic METH use is a risk factor for developing Parkinson’s disease and overdose death.

Stimulants

Stimulant addiction may also occur when using drugs and prescription medications such as Adderall. During detox, patients are monitored for symptoms such as fatigue, depression, anxiety, and intense cravings. The first steps in treating prescription stimulant addiction may be to taper the drug dosage and attempt to ease withdrawal symptoms. Behavioral treatment may then follow the detox process.

Medical support at Diamond Detox focuses on stabilization, rest, hydration, and emotional care.

FAQs

What is a continuum of care?

“Continuum of care” refers to communication and transition between levels of care. At Diamond Detox, our full-time case manager and clinical team work together to plan your discharge at the time of admission. Through clinical assessments and ongoing evaluation, we determine your needs for continued recovery and provide referrals, medication bridge prescriptions (as indicated), and facilitate your handoff to the next provider, whether that is a sober living environment, IOP, residential treatment center, or other mental health service.

To offer you the best start, our facility provides structured daily planning that includes group therapy, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and dual-diagnosis treatment. These evidence-based modalities support relapse prevention, leading to long-lasting wellness.

Yes. Diamond Detox is equipped to manage dual diagnoses. Mental health disorders often precede, contribute to, or co-occur with substance abuse. Our treatment plans include mental health interventions and medication management throughout your day. The evidence-based therapies we utilize include CBT, DBT, group therapy, and more.

Your stay at our facility concludes with referrals to an appropriate recovery center to continue supporting your behavioral health. There, you may make use of experiential therapy, family therapy, and other methods for addressing mental health issues that stem from or contribute to patterns of addiction.

Yes. Medical detox is the first step in long-term recovery and supports lasting well-being by aiding patients in achieving clinical stabilization by purging substances from their bodies. Once medical detox is complete at Diamond Detox, patients move on to other treatment facilities where they engage in long-term interventions and mental health services.

Diamond Detox is a voluntary stay facility. If your loved one is resistant to help, evaluate your approach. Addiction is a sensitive topic, so it is important to address your concerns without laying blame or shame. Let your loved one know you are ready to support the beginning of their drug rehab journey when they are ready, but also set boundaries that support your own well-being.

Share information with them about Diamond Detox, and let them know you will be happy to begin the process of insurance verification on their behalf.
